Anyway, **the point is that I want to make points, not fiddle with the details**. I will try to make conclusions on the basis of as few factual components as possible((The less facts I need to defend or verify, the better. If I can reach and defend a conclusion based on three facts rather than twenty, I will use three.)). I am a strong proponent of the scientific method and want to be corrected when I'm wrong, but I don't want people to make that correction process really, really painful. It seems to be that many people out there get quite the kick from knowing, or at least thinking to know, things better and act unnecessarily smug about it. Don't. Being wrong is part of the way and no drama needs to be made out of it - show me where I went wrong, why that path is wrong, why the other path is right and then //get on with your life//. Even if I end up disagreeing with you and maintaining my position, giving it any additional attention beyond what I just described //is not worth your time//.
