ultracomfy.net is the domain for a host on which I run a DokuWiki which itself serves as my homepage from which I operate Ramblings and other private and business matters. In essense, it is my own, self-made geeky web presence because that's the kind of thing I am into. I was looking for a solution to create and edit written content, that is also portable and easily shareable with other people. A website ticks all of these boxes because using DokuWiki it's been a very nice creative process to work on the things I always wanted to work on, without constraints, from anywhere, at any time, from any device because all it needs is internet access and a browser. Unlike google docs or other ways of doing these things, sharing my work is also very easy because anyone can just type in the URL into their browser. No setting up permissions, sharing document links or even putting up for download entire folder structures that I would then have to synchronize with every device I want to edit with. On a host, synchronization is done for me/is not necessary. Additionally, creating my own website also gives me full creative control over its appearance and presentatio, which adds a nice touch. I do not own this website because I believe to be playing in the league of professionals or corporates that “actually have a good reason to host a website”. ultracomfy.net is not meant to be popular, or meant to be advertisement for a “community” around me. I know that people don't care about me. I just want to write down things and then share it with specific people I know who do care - for example when I talk to a friend about a certain topic and I have a page on that, I can suggest to them to see the page. See more about Ramblings.
